Taking a Step Back
November 18, 2020

The other day, somebody really disappointed me – their actions inconvenienced me and actually cost me some money.

Two or three years ago, I would have gotten real angry and lash out – but what good does that do? That just accelerates an already bad situation.

So, I withdrew from the battlefield and wrote an email to the guy. Just one paragraph explaining my disappointment. That’s it.

I recommend everyone just step back. Even if you get hurt or it’s not fair, don’t confront right away. Let everything unfold.

The exception comes when it’s people you’re responsible for, like urchins, then you have to confront the situation. If you have control over the people, you have to right the wrong.

If you burn me once, shame on you. If you burn me twice, shame on me.
